Abiding God’s eternal laws keep you safe. Period. It doesn’t matter if “you” don’t believe, there’s only one truth — God’s truth. Not “your” or a social media influencer’s truth — God is the source of all truth.
I would have a hard time working in fast food. My first job was in my dad’s cabinet shop. I had to check in like the other employees. I was about 10 when he built the shop and I didn’t make anything at first. By 12 I got paid as part of my allowance but when I was 16 I became the main spray room strainer and sealer, plus installer. Those experiences carried me through college jobs even though I was 1500 miles away.
I recently built a new house and it helped knowing the construction trades even though I hadn’t worked in them for the past 50 years.
I’ve been a little incognito on social media for the past year. I was having a new house built but had to take over the GC role because of incompetence in most phases of the “trades” people working on it. I’m thinking of making a blog/website to document the poor workmanship. I want to name names but fear retribution — on the other hand, I need to warn future clients of those companies. WWYD?
Well, I was born/reared in Wisconsin. Left for BYU, mission and returned for about a year before going back to BYU. Married a Utah girl, so I stayed there until our kids were out of the house.
Got a great job in Texas then retired — we’ve been here for more than 20 years. Not leaving, at least not willingly.
(BTW, I worked in a cheese factory after the mission for that one-year stint. I made cheese whiz-type product for holiday gift boxes. When young, I lived near a different cheese factory. So, I’ve seen how this stuff is made. I will not, repeat, will not eat cheese. Hahaha. )
Anyway, nice to meet you.
