Today at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, His Excellency @officialABAT, GCFR, represented by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon
Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, conferred the prestigious NYSC Honours Award on 200 exceptional ex-Corps Members. I was honoured to join Mr. President as we celebrated the selflessness, patriotism, and excellence of these young Nigerians who exemplify the spirit of national unity and service. Their sacrifices and impact—especially in education, health, agriculture, and grassroots development—remind us that the future of Nigeria is in capable hands.

The President’s message was both inspiring and reassuring. He not only acknowledged the extraordinary efforts of the awardees, including 10 physically challenged honorees under the Hope Alive Initiative, but also announced life-changing incentives—employment into the Federal Civil Service, postgraduate scholarships, and monetary rewards. These gestures reflect a government deeply committed to youth empowerment and inclusion in national development.

As Minister of Youth Development, I reaffirm our unwavering support for young Nigerians through bold, strategic programmes. From NIYA’s seven million digital jobs, to the Corpreneurship startup initiative, to the upcoming National Youth Conference—this administration is intentional about giving young people a seat at the table. The recent increase in Corps Members’ allowance from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000 is further testament to Mr. President’s vision of a more secure and prosperous future led by empowered youth.

To all awardees: your story is a beacon of hope. You have shown that with integrity, innovation, and resilience, Nigerian youth can lead with distinction. I encourage every young person out there to stay engaged, take advantage of government programmes, and remain committed to national unity. We celebrate you today—and we count on you for tomorrow.
