the reason why most discussions on post resurrection jon feel incomplete is because people downplay the implications of arya being his dying thought. ghost and arya are the two figures that occupy his mind during his murder for a reason, you have to consider both!

theres a nice gender inversion of the conventional romance trope. arya positioned as the usually masculine role of the character who pursues and avenges their lover, whereas jon occupies the traditionally feminine role of the lover tempted and stolen from their established world

mance’s rescue mission for arya is palimpsestic of not only rhaegar and lyanna, but bael the bard and the stark maiden. jon and arya won’t simply reproduce bael and the maiden or rhaegar and lyanna though. jeyne isn’t arya, and it’s arya who steals jon from his duties to the wall

it’s kind of funny how everyone knew that jon did not play about arya. they only saw her as a tool to bring him to their side because they knew she ruled his heart, just for jon to say he’d do it himself then!
