Everyone is very confused as to how the Israelis ended up murdering an anti-Hezbollah politician in Lebanon tonight. Running theories:

- They meant to target a Hezbollah member staying in the apartment next to the LF politician, but missed the mark. I think this is unlikely given that the apartment was empty and it’s not an area that’s welcoming to the displaced, let alone a potential member of Hezbollah. But many media outlets are pushing this 🤷🏻‍♀️

- The Israelis intentionally killed the LF politician, knowing Hezbollah would be blamed, to dial up sectarian tensions which are already high (this is the most plausible to me)

- The Israelis had really really really bad intelligence 🤷🏻‍♀️
