After several days of journey, our @kathmandupost colleague @arjunpoudeltkp finally reached his home village this weekend.

Almost everything was gone after the floods. Here’s his harrowing account from the ground.

We express our solidarity and are united in prayer for the Nepali people following the devastating floods.

@StateDept stands ready to support the Government of Nepal with needed humanitarian assistance.

[Pierre Poilievre @PierrePoilievre]

Heartbreaking news from Nepal, where devastating flash floods have claimed more than 150 lives and left hundreds missing, with reports that 24 Canadians are among those who haven’t been found.

We pray for their safety and offer our deepest condolences to all those mourning loved ones.

[Doug Ford @fordnation]

My thoughts are with everyone affected by the devastating flash floods that took place in Nepal and Tibet earlier today.

Given the reports that Canadians are among the missing, Ontario has reached out to Global Affairs Canada for additional information and to see how we can assist.

[Mark Carney @MarkJCarney]

The flash floods along Nepal’s Bhotekoshi River are absolutely devastating.

Canadians are thinking of all those in distress right now, those who have lost a loved one, and all those who are still waiting for answers.

Our government is closely following the situation and asking all Canadians in the region to register with the ROCA system as soon as possible.

As rescue efforts continue, Canada stands ready to provide support.
