LinkedinBrain has poisoned how people think about business. Post-hoc, low context, perfect information analysis presented with absolutely no view of execution complexity or trade-offs. Designed for clout and to sell fractional services than to present unique insight. Painful.
Volvo posted a 3 min and 46 second ad on Instagram, shot by Hoyte Van Hoytema, the cinematographer of Interstellar and Oppenheimer.
It goes against every single rule you can think about as a social lead. Length. Format. Over-produced.
Every comment under the ad said it immediately put Volvo in their consideration set. It's fucking fantastic.
The idea that renting should be just as good as homeowning is key to our work at Better Renting, so we're excited about this report from @AHURI_research. More Aussies are renting for longer; they shouldn't have to wait until they can buy to feel like real life has begun.
We have to do better for renters - starting with longer leases & better conditions.
But also by giving renters pathways to home ownership: through rent to buy, help to buy or other schemes.
Most of all we need a plan for migration & an ⬆️ in 🏠 supply.

We are fortunate to work with so many agencies who care about the renters they serve and understand that the benefits of payments tech should not be at the renter’s expense.
Some great changes have now been announced that bans charging renters fees at all https://t.co/IzKk8sMG9d
Survivorship bias means most people who hold themselves up as examples of what we all can achieve are instead ignoring that luck/circumstance was their major benefactor.
Every "I believed and so I did" hides scores of others whose experience was "I believed and I was wrong".
Severe storms forecast in Sydney late this afternoon to impact flights. Qantas will use an Airbus A380 from Melbourne to Sydney to help get customers on their way.

@SB_Duggan Be good to see if they can maintain the shift and win ppl back! I’ve been stuck at Sydney this afternoon/evening flying virgin and I’ve just watched them tell a heap of people to find hotels nearby because of a lack of planes and delays after the storm.
@SB_Duggan Could add streaming now too. If we look at the path towards the introduction of adds we have all ended up paying far more for less content than pay tv
Interesting. ‘Disruption’ rarely looks as disruptive when those companies have to achieve profitability. Uber is a shadow of its former self from a customer point of view so that it can do this. I’d argue it’s now worse than taxis were more often than not.
Business travel in 2024:
Decent, direct flight: $139
Hotel room: $145
Round trip Uber from the airport to your hotel in the worst looking car you’ve seen in your life with a guy yelling to his cousin on speakerphone for 44 minutes: $176
Midjourney version 6 was released two hours ago, and it's incredible.
I compared it to the previous version 5.2 across 15 very different image categories.
Here are the results:
