“We Love You! We will miss Buffalo. Bills Mafia, you are one of one!”
A classy statement from Sean McDermott following his surprising exit from Buffalo:
SHAI GILGEOUS-ALEXANDER is one of 18 Thunder players who collectively won for OKC our first NBA Championship. All 18 will live forever in our city’s history & in our hearts. In recognition of this accomplishment, I hereby proclaim that today is SHAI GILGEOUS-ALEXANDER DAY in OKC!
I'm happy for the #OKCThunder and my #Oklahoma friends.
While it's still a college football state first and second, it's an underrated basketball state. There's a passion for the sport in small towns across the state (go watch a Friday night hoops game in Forgan, OK, population: 451, and tell me they aren't into basketball).
The high school championships at "The Big House" is a great scene for youth hoops.
At the college level, OU and OSU hoops have mostly been overshadowed by football, but they have 11 Final Fours between them.
Even lower-level programs have a solid history. Oklahoma City University holds the record for the most NAIA tournament championships with six. OCU also holds the record for most national championship titles in NAIA women's basketball.
I was living in Woodward when Durant, Westbrook, Harden & Co. came along, and came up short vs. LeBron and the Heat. A state that was typically always divided over the Bedlam rivalry, was united in a way it arguably had never been over sports.
It's a long time coming! Congrats, Oklahoma!
Staying home: #Bills OC Joe Brady, the architect of the Buffalo offense, has elected to remain with the Bills and pull out of the #Saints HC search, per me and @TomPelissero.
New Orleans had wanted to interview Brady a second time, along with Kellen Moore. Brady sticks in BUF.
What an honor to be listed next to some of the best in the business!
Couldn’t be possible without the help of @glang1, @Spmag, and everyone on our amazing staff.
