We work to celebrate and build cultural ties and continuing friendship between Bath in England and Alkmaar in the Netherlands, linked for over 79 years.
It will soon be that time of year again for bonnets, top hats and parasols.
Tickets are now on sale for the Jane Austen events at Prior Park. The Jane Austen Festival will be taking place in Bath 11-20 September.

We were honoured to have a “VVIP guest" at our own Koningsdag celebration in Alkmaar’s UK sister city of #Bath this week!
He presented the winning prize for guessing the number of liquorice pieces in the jar.

We celebrated Koningsdag - Dutch National Day - at our Alkmaar Cafe tonight (the closest to the actual date).
There was traditional food, music, a Vrijmarkt and a Royal Quizmaster!
We even had a visitor to Bath from Amsterdam join us!
A truly gezellig evening.
Meet author Aletta Stevens on 21st February at Bath Library to find out more about her book of the Bath-Alkmaar story: how our two cities came to be linked 80 years ago.
The end of the 80th Anniversary year of our Bath-Alkmaar link, thanks to the @BathRotary.
Their Carol Service in Bath Abbey included one recorded reading from the Bible Christmas story by Alkmaar Rotarian Gilbert de Bock. A lovely gesture which was widely appreciated.
"Vrolijk kerstfeest!” There'll be a Dutch flavour to the Bath Christmas market this weekend (6-8 December) as the Bath-Alkmaar Twinning Association chalet opens for business.
The stall this year is in Milsom Street, a new location but with the same Dutch festive goodies on sale
On September 11th we led an official Bathscape Festival Walk from the Alkmaar Garden in Bath to the lovely village of Bathford where Eli Prins set up home after the War.
To celebrate 80 years of our city link we took a small Alkmaar flag along to the Last Night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in London. A night of music, friendship and joy!
Many thanks to David Hall from BRLSI, the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution, for joining the Mayor of Bath and BATA yesterday for the annual ceremonial striking of the Alkmaar Gong.
The gong was a gift from Alkmaar to Bath in 1947 and now resides in the Guildhall.
