There’s a lot of history in Bathurst. Established in 1814, it is the oldest inland settlement in Australia. It was the birthplace of the Australian gold rush and the world’s best athletes will be looking to take a piece of that gold home with them in 2021. #bathurst2021@AthsAust

@bathurst2021 The most important thing @Aarhus2019 did right was make the event a celebration of XC: a nod to history, legends, tradition, etc. Mass participation race and media coverage were next. Don't make the course too gimmicky: natural surfaces, runnable, but rhythm busting.
If @bathurst2021 ran a #WorldXC event at night, it would...
✓ Be the first World Cross event to do so (unique among all other iterations)
✓ Lesson heat/fatigue, as an XC Feb event in so. hemisphere would be HOT
✓ Prime for media ops.
✓ Help viewers across Africa, Europe etc.
@TimHutchings1@IAAF@AthsAust@Aarhus2019 Thanks Tim. We hope we can do the championships justice. Aarhus did a fantastic job and we will endeavour to build off the success of their event.
The @iaaforg World Cross Country Championships are coming to #Bathurst in 2021 - a major international event for regional NSW. Looking forward to welcoming 700 world-class athletes to Mount Panorama. https://t.co/rw8ZDuQZu9
