My sincere condolences to the families and friends of the students of Federal University Gusau who have been abducted. This is a senseless crime, and I am deeply saddened to hear about it.
I pray for their safe and swift return. In the meantime, I encourage everyone to remain
A section of the Press is mischievously twisting the narrative to read that TINUBU’s GOVERNMENT HAS REMOVED SUBSIDY. That is NOT CORRECT. TINUBU’s govt has merely inherited a regime where there was no provision for subsidy in the 2023 Appropriation Act as from June, 2023 and the Petroleum Industry Act which is now extant has no provision for subsidy. President Tinubu merely acknowledged this state of affairs in his inaugural speech at the Eagle Square.
So any advocate of subsidy should convince the Nigerian people why President Tinubu should start on a note of illegality by promising to reintroduce something which the law has taken away. They should also convince the Nigerian people why President Tinubu should embark on a present illegality that gulped $10 billion of our scarce or unavailable resources in 2022 alone.
Those claiming to defend the right or welfare of workers should convince the Nigerian people that $10 billion injected into the economy yearly will not jumpstart the economy enough as to create massive jobs and even increase the same minimum wage they complain about.
That is the conversation the Nigerian people are prepared to have now

PRESS STATEMENT
President Tinubu directs DSS to immediately vacate EFCC office
President Bola Tinubu has directed the Department of State Security Service to immediately vacate the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The President gave the directive when reports that DSS officials stormed the EFCC office located on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos on Tuesday, preventing officials of the anti-graft agency from accessing their work place, was brought to his attention.
The President said if there were issues between the two important agencies of government, they would be resolved amicably.

Your Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, I am sorry, but there is clarity as to the basis of the U.S. Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken’s call to @officialABAT and their pledge for support and cooperation. It’s obvious that you and your supporters have overrated your noise and tantrums after the election as having any real effect internationally. No, they have not had any such massive effect as you would wish.
Unfortunately for you, the US have dealt with so many opposition figures around the world and they know exactly how to separate facts from fictions. They know you lost, fair and square. They know that in a complex society like Nigeria you could not have won with your message of ‘religious war’. They know you’re just a splinter of the main opposition, the PDP, so it amounts to delusions of grandeur to think that you won when you actually came third.
They also know the declaration of a winner already announced by INEC has the force of law and is the only acceptable legal framework upon which to proceed than your Petition in court that is yet to be decided upon. You really want this country to stand still because you have a case in court? Is that what we have practiced in this country for decades?
Recall, sir, that when you won your second term in office as Governor of Anambra State, your opponents were in the Tribunal when you were sworn in and you got congratulatory messages from across Nigeria and the world. Did you reject those congratulatory messages because your opponents were in court? Why are you now misleading these largely hapless mob trooping blindly after you? Why?
As you are going about with this pretentious holier-than-thou attitude, a court of law just nullified the nomination of a number of your Party’s candidates at the last election. Are you not more worried about this development, even as it affects your own nomination as the Labour Party’s Presidential candidate?
Mr. Peter Obi, your pontifications about the last Presidential election are getting very worrisome. They are beneath you. They are designed only to appeal to the mob. You know you lost the election; we know you know; and you know we know that you know.
Please, come down from your high horse.
For the avoidance of doubt, Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT of the APC beat Peter Obi of LP by a margin of 2,693,193 votes.
So, let me educate the unlearned fellows as to how electoral jurisprudence works so that no one deceives them: If you allege electoral malpractice in just ONE STATE and you do 100 TV documentaries on it, it cannot and will not upturn the overall result of the election in the event that when you subtract or add the result of that ONE STATE to the overall tally, the margin between both candidates will still not be obliterated.
Whilst I am not commenting on any particular Petition pending in court now, I just want to say that the entire result of an election cannot be cancelled due to any alleged malpractice if that malpractice does not SUBSTANTIALLY affect the declared result.
In addition, the type of evidence that may be admissible in court to prove over voting may be substantially different from what is put together to make fanciful documentaries that make the eyes of viewers pop out. So, just sit back and be entertained by documentaries.
Peter Obi's Legal Team has moved motion for adjournment till next week Wednesday, May 17th 2023.
They have told the court that they are not yet ready.

I was delighted by the rousing welcome I received upon my arrival in Port Harcourt earlier today.
It was an honour to have been invited by His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Ezenwa Wike, to commission the latest of the many wonderful developmental projects executed by his administration.
In what was a remarkable display of unity, I was joined yesterday evening by leaders of the country across party lines at the State Banquet hosted in my honor by the Rivers State government in Port Harcourt. I’m grateful to Governor Nyesom Wike, an outstanding achiever, and the people of the great State for the rare honor.
It was a personal joy for me because it foreshadows what is to come; a government committed to the progress of Nigerians wherever they live and one led by the progressive ideals of unity, equity, justice, and fairness.
I ended my two-day visit to Rivers State with the inauguration of the magnificent Magistrate Courts Complex in Port Harcourt.
I commend Governor Nyesom Wike @GovWike for his truly inspiring accomplishments and for his hospitality.
We'll Never Forget You!
Today, as always, I remember my good friend and brother in the struggle for democracy and good governance in Nigeria, late President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, who died on this day 13 years ago.
I think we can all agree that there was another coronation in Italy where our son, Victor Osimhen, claimed the crown as the new King of Serie A! The real deal, or idán gangan as younger folks may describe him; Victor has continued the fine tradition of Nigeria’s footballing excellence on the global stage. We are all proud of him and wish him well in what is already a remarkable career.
