We’re only about a week in, but I really wanted to report in on this unique game from @buttonshy . It’s almost kind of like an analog version of an MMORPG where the social and trade part is still online. But... e.g. you play once a day at most, real life time of day matters, etc.
But what I really want to stress is that this game is unlike anything else I’ve seen... Really interested to see where it goes! Worth checking out for people into unique game experiences.
@CoinFlipGames@PlumpyThimble@buttonshy Figures I would forget the name! It’s called Personal Space. It’s part of the Board Game of the Month Club (i.e. Button Shy Patreon).
Even after only a few days it’s already had several content additions. Right now the amount of things you can do each day don’t vary a ton, but there’s a fair amount to do already, and there’s more all the time.
I sat in on a demo of Tattoo Stories last year with @slausondesigns and it was a blast - one of the few games at Gen Con I knew I was going to get just from the demo.
(which reminds me I need to get around to putting in my Bicycle order! 😮)
‘Cause, honestly, some of the coolest board game coverage I’ve consumed has come from black creators, and some of the coolest games I’ve tried have too. And we’d all be missing out if their voices weren’t represented! (So hire/pay them, please!)
I haven’t been on here much lately BUT...
I want to make it very clear that I absolutely believe that #BlackLivesMatter
I want my interactions on here to always bear that out, and I’m trying to make that happen.
... And, in so far as this is an account that is mostly about board games, I also want to say I hope that with regards to board games, that the industry will really take this moment to heart, and let us hear from more awesome black designers and content creators.
@kjrevia I recently bought a copy of Win Lose Banana to carry, so that too. Sometimes it’s other Button Shy or Pack O Games games, but they rarely get played (people are skeptical of small games 🤷♂️). If I learn Oh My Goods again, I’ll probably start taking that one too.
@kjrevia I don’t carry them with me, but things I’ve recently thrown in a bag in a hurry have been In Vino Morte and Stew from Button Shy, Bloom, Boomerang (has to be sleeved though), Railroad Ink, and Resistance: Avalon. And cards for biscola chiamata.
We’ve really enjoyed the original edition of Boomerang (drafting multi-use cards ... and write), and not only is it being reprinted but you can get two spin off games.

Are you ready to travel #Australia again?
Get ready for a brand new version of this awesome @Scott_Almes game, #Boomerang: Australia! 🤩
The game has been redesigned with new amazing art by Kerri Aitken 😍
More information to come at the end of the week, stay tuned! 😉
I wanted to start 2020 off with a new project, so let me introduce https://t.co/Hea3b5RQFq, a simple site that will (finally) let me share some of the historical Japanese board game archival and translation work I and my students have been working on for the past 2.5 years.
