Has there been a Star Wars story where Luke gets stuck with C3PO for like months and he begins to question what of Anakin still lives in C3PO and this builds their bond together? #StarWars@starwars
@JoshRaby Mind you: Boots Riley is all over the internet begging people to go watch his movie.....this person is taking no risk in the production of the film and therefore has no say in the profits
@neontaster How will that work if the film failed? So if the film made a little profit, then everyone deserves that?
If every film had a "If we make money" clause then the upfront pay will be less. What does "make money" even mean?
@RuffCrim My middle ground is what Vince Gilligan does where he hires the same people work, practically making a middle line. In this scenario the middle line workers who are part of your team and have a relationship should get shared profit but not folks below the line.
@RuffCrim You only hear this when the movie is successful. I agree she have been paid more upfront and thats a problem with the industry...but shared profits is not a solution.
@JoshRaby Filmmaking is expensive and a risk to invest. Yes the person was overworked and should have been paid proper but a bonus or profits just does not make sense.
@vnbvrnt You only hear this if the film is successful I'm sorry but the folks who invested money should be the ones to get the profit
If I owned a production company then yes I would give a bonus to my crew who works in the company but not freelance workers
