@Stephen19718352 Bukowski had a good quote about that. After his first drink he thought, “Well, now I have found something, I have found something that is going to help me, for a long long time to come." Even he gave it up eventually.
@AllisonPearson@TheAliceSmith I think they know this, honestly, and see the injustice as a form of ‘reparations’ - i.e. payback for past perceived injustice against other groups.
@CatholicPebble I agree. If the Novus Ordo ‘works,’ and transubstantiation occurs, then we are not in a state of necessity requiring disobeying the Pope. We may be in dire doctrinal straits — and I agree we are — but it’s not a necessity for salvation of souls, in my opinion.
@EVR_Forge@pontificatormax Thank you - I am glad to hear that! I had gotten a different impression, which made it hard for me to still consider SSPX ‘in communion.’ Appreciate it.
@EVR_Forge@pontificatormax Thanks. Still not sure if you think the NO provides sacramental grace, though, or not. Does it work? Does transubstantiation occur?
@pontificatormax@EVR_Forge I did. The situation is bad, but if attending NO is sufficient, then I don’t see a sufficient state of emergency for what SPPX is doing.
@EVR_Forge@pontificatormax Isn’t the state of emergency based on the belief that the Novus Ordo is insufficient for the salvation of souls? Believing that seems like schism to me.
