Marc Summers just announced a 40th anniversary celebration for 'Double Dare,' set for October 4 at City Winery in Philadelphia, the city where it all started.

Summers said the event will include physical challenges, musical pies, never-before-seen video, and appearances from original announcer John Harvey and production assistant Robin Russo.

'Double Dare' premiered on Nickelodeon on October 6, 1986 as the network's first ever game show. It was filmed at the WHYY-TV studios in Philadelphia and almost immediately tripled viewership for Nickelodeon's afternoon lineup, becoming the most-watched original daily program on cable television at the time.

The show ran for 525 episodes across multiple versions, including Super Sloppy Double Dare, Family Double Dare, Double Dare 2000, and a 2018 revival hosted by Liza Koshy with Summers serving as executive producer.
