#Malaria is on the rise in Rwanda and children are bearing the brunt of it. I was pleased to join @RBCRwanda and @WHORwanda to demonstrate @unicefrw ‘s commitment to fighting it on #WMD2025
Every child deserves safety, support & opportunity. #IAMForEveryChild calls us to turn commitment into action and build a legacy of hope for all children.
“Today at #AHAIC2025, I had the privilege of moderating a crucial discussion titled "Financing the Future: Sustainable and Equitable Models for Community Health Workers (CHWs) in Africa."
Investing in CHWs means investing in stronger health systems and healthier communities.
I was proud to join the government and partners at this important workshop to reflect on what we achieved and what we can do better. Thinking of our neighbors #Uganda and #Tanzania as they fight their battles against #ebola and #marburg@unicefrw
Today, RBC in collaboration with stakeholders and partners, concluded a 5-day After Action Review (#AAR) workshop for the #Marburg virus disease outbreak response.
The review focused on what went well, good practices, challenges encountered, and lessons learned during the response to the #MVD outbreak, and identified areas for improvement for future preparedness.
This qualitative review helps to strengthen national capacities for public health emergency response.

WorldAIDSDay was quite an event in #Rwanda. @nsanzimanasabin reminded us of our progress over the last 10 yrs in reducing new infections.
However, most new infections are among young women and girls and stigma persists. @unicefrw@RwandaHealth@RwandaUN@RBCRwanda

Critical UNICEF-supplied Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has arrived to support response to the MVD outbreak. These are crucial in ensuring health workers on the frontlines stay safe as they work.
As @RwandaHealth responds swiftly, let's adhere to all prevention measures.
Grateful for the support from @WHORwanda, @USAIDRwanda, and @UNICEFRwanda! We’ve received 500 PPE kits, including infection prevention and clinical care supplies, to help protect frontline health workers during the #Marburg outbreak, which has greatly impacted their safety.
Sad to see deaths increasing but glad to see no more new cases. Thanks to @RwandaHealth for keeping the communication open so we can fight this together. @unicefrw@RBCRwanda
Proud of how far ahead @RBCRwanda and @RwandaHealth is as usual — in this case protecting frontline workers and communities from mpox through vaccination. @unicefrw https://t.co/pLd2V9NO2p
1/3 This week, in collaboration with @unicefrw, we started an insightful five-day Human-Centered Design (HCD) training in @Muhangadis aimed at enhancing immunization efforts across Rwanda to reach the last mile.
#mpox is affecting thousands and children are at risk. @UNICEF and partners are delivering lifesaving vaccines and 60 tons of essential supplies to those in need. We are committed to doing more, with additional vaccines on the way for the hardest hit countries.
