Train No. 17237 is regularly held on the loop line at Gummidipundi to allow express trains to overtake, despite the platform being on the main line. It would be much more efficient to manage this overtake at Ponneri station,

Train No. 17237 Express is reaching Chennai Central late on a daily basis. After Ponneri station, it is being held up behind local MEMUs.
