2019 is actually an El Niño year, meaning that the US should be having warmer temperatures than normal due to the trade winds not upwelling cold water. Wisconsin, however, is not getting any of that warmth with the snow in the middle of April @franklinlorax#apesair
Today in Franklin the air quality index is good at 28 with the main pollutant as PM2.5. Tomorrow's air quality index will be good as well, but the main pollutant will be ozone. Let's keep up the good air quality! #apesair@franklinlorax
In this lab, we combined CO2 and H2O, which are the same chemicals that cause ocean acidification. It was really interesting to see how the pH of water changes when it is mixed with carbon dioxide, the most prominent greenhouse gas in our atmosphere. @franklinlorax#apesair
This energy that is used in the school for lighting, and majorly everything, is from a coal powerplant that is burned and converted to energy for us. @franklinlorax#apesenergy
On a windy day like today, I sure wish I had a wind turbine in my yard. Wind turbines don’t require combustion of fossil fuels such as coal meaning that I won’t pollute harmful emissions that lead to acid rain or greenhouse gases. @franklinlorax#APESEnergy
