@MattAFiedler Funny how it's "striking" that IDREs formed a lobbying group, but not that the insurance industry—with countless lobbyists and trade groups—has spent years trying to narrow and litigate the IDR process. Maybe the surprise is they waited this long.
@ben_ippolito QPA is a black box number submitted by organizations known for deceptive, greedy and illegal behavior. IDREs recognize this and apply an appropriate weight to it in addition to all other eligible factors. I'm sorry this hurts your feelings
@LorenAdler That's a different issue. Surprise billing justified reform. It doesn't automatically validate how insurers calculate the QPA, negotiate contracts today, or behave in IDR. Those deserve the same level of scrutiny, yet your work rarely seems to apply it.
@LorenAdler You keep asking whether awards exceed prior contracted rates, but rarely ask whether those "prior contracted rates" reflected a functioning market or insurer leverage. It's hard to claim neutrality when nearly all of the scrutiny falls on providers and IDREs
