@BMedicky@markomihkelson Sounds fine to me as well. However, screaming “but Putin!” in response to every criticism to Zelenskyy is kinda dumb. Is Ukraine a functioning democracy or not?
@JP03880617@CVernonSmith@QuinHillyer be careful talking to old Clifford here. He likes to ask a lot of questions to make him feel like he’s pontificating but blocks you when it’s his time to answer. He’s one of “those” guys.
@BMedicky@markomihkelson I never said it was unconstitutional. The fact that elections have been suspended puts Zelenskyy’s legitimacy in question. If Zelenskyy wins, he regains legitimacy. If not, a new government would be in a position for fresh negotiations. Win-win.
@AlexSalvati3@CVernonSmith@QuinHillyer While no one knows how sincere he was, Putin asked 2 Presidents and NATO bigwigs about a Russian pathway into NATO prior to 2007. Those statements were not an unfair assessment from the Russian POV. In hindsight I’ve come to the realization NATO should’ve been disbanded in 1991.
@AlexSalvati3@CVernonSmith@QuinHillyer let’s not forget that prior to 2009 Ukraine was aligned with Russia. Even after, Ukraine has been notoriously corrupt.
@CVernonSmith@QuinHillyer Krauthammer considered himself a neocon. He had a lot of good ideas (especially on US immigration) but his opinions on post-soviet Russia failed to take into account the declining influence of Europe as China emerged as a superpower. He wrote a ton of books, you should read them.
@CVernonSmith@QuinHillyer so far you’re not making much of a case here. I’ll make it easier for you. Why is it better for America to have Ukraine on the border with Russia vs Poland?
@CVernonSmith@QuinHillyer just so you know, Krauthammers blind spot was always his neocon views that never evolved after the end of the cold war. He was a very smart guy but the more I read his work the more it became clear how obviously surface level it was
