The last homegrown blockbuster of the summer is coming to Chinese theaters in a few days, and it’s about a Chinese restaurant owner in an unnamed Middle Eastern country whose life is upended by the invasion of (clearly) US forces. Very curious how this one’s gonna turn out…
Just finished this movie. I will say as an American, many parts were extremely emotional for me---as we pay for these nonsense wars with our taxpayer dollars.
I recommend going into it just knowing it's about a Chinese chef who works in Iraq during the war and nothing else.
@DerekJGrossman Of these, 0% are willing to join the army,
and they 100% believe that the soldiers who will ultimately go to the front lines to fight the People's Liberation Army will be Americans.
They only need to choose to join the winning side after the war ends.

China's Xpeng has taken its 'Land Aircraft Carrier' outside Asia for the first time, debuting the modular flying car at a launch event in Munich, Germany. It's two machines in one: a six-wheeled electric ground vehicle nicknamed the 'Mothership' and a detachable two-seat eVTOL flight module that stows in the back, rolls out, and takes off on six rotors.

@hkfp They are paid actors, a group of people who may never have been to mainland China in their entire lives;
they don't even know which subway line to take to Tiananmen Square.

India dumps entire truckloads of plastic trash straight into the rivers.
Meanwhile we’re forced to use paper straws that dissolve, bottle caps that never come off, ULEZ charges and carbon taxes.
Net zero is a scam run by people who hate you.
First Phantom Blade 0, and now Black Myth Zhong Kui, Chinese developers are showing that they're in a league of their own.
But these aren't the only games that are in development at Chinese studios. We still have:
🔸Blood Message
🔸Genigods: Nezha
🔸Swords of Legends
🔸The Perceiver
🔸Loulan The Cursed Sand
🔸Ballad of Antara
🔸Tides of Annihilation
You know the fake campaign pretending that China is oppressing the Uyghurs? It crashed and burned in a hilarious way this week after one of the many fake Uyghur campaign groups published a video they said showed China demolishing a mosque.
But it actually showed Indonesians demolishing a theme park building – nothing to do with China, Uyghurs, or Islam.
The demonize China team had arranged for lots of fake accounts to follow-up the fake video with supportive comments—but they forgot to tell them to use different words.
So as you can see here, it looked like lots of people on social media were commenting on it—but they all said almost exactly the same thing, showing that they weren’t real people at all. This also got a lot of laughs.
The Uyghur campaign group’s website uses a lot of fake AI pictures, and if you press on the tag that says “Our Team” you just get a blank page!
There were more than 12 hundred posts on X dotcom poking fun at the flop of the campaign to demonize China.
But not on the other social media channels – so please steal this video and share the story on Facebook and Instagram and Tiktok and Youtube or anywhere else. Thank you!
