Your banking app stays open all night. But the bank behind it doesn't

Banking apps have made it possible to move money within your own country in seconds. But that was the easy part

The hard part is the dollar. A freelancer in "Buenos Aires" finished a job three days ago, yet their money is still making its way through two correspondent banks

But the dollar wasn't the only thing missing onchain. @base is now building fast in this space

Back in October 2025, @base had 12 local currency stablecoins Today, it has 25+

These cover roughly 21 national currencies, from"Argentine peso" to "British pound"

Behind them are 32+ issuers across the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa

And @jessepollak goal is to bring stablecoins for every currency in the world to Base by the end of 2027

So if that freelancer uses an onchain local currency, they can decide for themselves whether to hold dollars or pesos. They wouldn't need to convert twice

Onchain, no bank permission is required, nobody in middle needs to sign off and there's no need to wait two days for settlement

The money simply arrives in their own currency

And this isn't just theory. Recently, @coinbase and @modveon launched an app called "Sivar" on Base to address "El Salvador's remittance problems

People never wanted branches. They wanted their money to move whenever they did
