We are officially LIVE! We launched our website today at #IDEAS2021 and are ready to help all of you radiant biologists spend more time doing biology and less time Googling stats!
Simplified stats question. I have data (biomass, year) for 50 species, and I want to know what factors influence trend over time. So something like:
biomass = slope*year + intercept
slope ~ bodysize + region + othercovariates
How can I estimate effects of covariates on slope?
Can we standardize lat/lon measurements to be in decimal degrees?
i.e. report 41.1297ºS instead of 41º07'47"S
The latter are so much harder to work with when doing analyses.
Mastering Shiny has just gone into production🎉, so now's a great to pre-order if you want a physical copy! https://t.co/r5BnEMiOBd (Or continue to read online for free at https://t.co/aby9kfwmQu) #rstats
@grifdare Otherwise, we’re big fans of colouring points by species and getting creative with setting alpha values and position_jitter/dodge/jitterdodge
@grifdare Conversely, if you just want to show distribution of each species and you don’t care about where they co-occur, then you could have an independent map for each species

ggrepel is an amazing package in #Rstats that ensures that labels for data points are automagically placed in the most beautiful position, with geom_text_repel()
