Reading for fun should be a joyful experience- not dictated. People are put off by my earnestness & that’s fine but I’m just doing what your bio suggests

@kivuraw I once tried to read this fantasy book and there was several pages describing a castle. I don’t care about intricate landscape details. I just don’t. Other people love that. I love digging into someone’s experience and growing up in the castle. Not what rocks are chipped

Or what anybody else does. It’s their business. Personally I don’t skip descriptions. I do avoid fantasy though (heavy descriptions)

Reading heavily descriptive writing can be immensely difficult without seeing it like others- who read it seamlessly
