May the angels lead him into paradise! So sorry for your loss. We have a player here playing for me that played with him at one point. Heartbroken. @Londonth44
Heartbroken over Jaylon. He worked so hard this summer and was so close to changing his future. He was really about to shock the world.
We’ll carry your legacy forever, Jaylon. 🕊️💔

You will never be liked by everyone as a coach. Your heart could be in the right place and people will still dislike you. Gotta be okay with that. You have to make tough decisions based on what’s best for the team and many times that may not be what’s best for the individual.
All they needed was a one page document.
“If you voluntarily choose to associate with the NCAA you have to follow their rules and regulations, you are not allowed to judge shop to get favorable rulings.”
That’s it. That’s all we needed.
But politicians had to get involved and every special favor and set aside was added that we never needed to save college athletics.
It shouldn’t be a “save college sports” act, it should be a “save us from politicians” act.
Ben McCollum shares what it feels like to be around first-place people and a first-place culture.
"I went to Northwest Missouri State, and my first practice with Steve Tapmeyer - best coach I've ever been around - I sat there and I'm like, 'This is what first place feels like. This is what a first-place culture feels like. This is what first-place people feel like.'"
That was the wake-up call. He realized what first-place people have:
"They've got an extreme work ethic. They've got an edge to 'em that other people don't - a competitive spirit."
Then he quoted John Thompson:
"You can tame a fool a lot quicker than you can resurrect a corpse...We want guys with a little edge to 'em."
You can coach skills, but you can't coach competitive spirit. You don't want to consistently coach their effort and attitude.
The last thing they look for: Energy givers.
"Over the years, we found that guys that are moody don't make it in our program."
"If you're moody, if you have low energy, if you suck the life out of the building - you don't make it."
Talent isn't enough. Your energy matters. Your attitude matters.
Successful people have a competitive edge, they bring energy, and they look to consistently get better.
They raise the standard through what they do.

@BuccoMike Funny how you
1) ignore what Lowe said himself about liking it here
2) Ignore a balanced CBA would enable him to stay here
3) there is not a single reliable source that backs up what you said, but go ahead and make shit up
Cruz was still 2nd in CF WAR in the NL Central and top 10 overall amongst the position group despite missing all that time. Where would the Pirates have been if he and Griffin didn’t miss so many games? That’s gonna be one that we will wonder about for awhile
My father, who is 86 years old, said 25 years ago that he hated internet message boards.
“Why dad?”
“Because they give people a public forum to voice opinions they haven’t earned about subjects they know nothing about.”
This rings more true than ever today.
I’d like to start a petition:
If you aren’t D1 and your games aren’t on a major platform, you are legally required to stream them on YouTube.
Quit trying to squeeze $10 out of the 50 people who want to watch, just to give them the world’s worst livestream on some random streaming app nobody has ever heard of.
Put it on YouTube. Let the grandparents & me find the game. 😂
‼️ Coaching and impact 101 ‼️
PLAYERS SHOULDN'T DREAD HALF TIME OR TIMEOUTS.
Timeouts compound, positively or negatively.
We teach children that timeouts are safe, and we encourage adults to take breaks. The research says this should be the same for athletes, at all levels.
You CAN steal points during TOs, but not if they sound like this:
'The other team just wants it more.'
'Get your ass back on D.'
'Do you guys actually believe this team is better than you guys?'
Break huddle.
COMPOSED- get the players off of the emotional rollercoaster through your body language.
ACTIONABLE- 1-3 actions or solutions that need to be addressed with a CLEAR HOW.
PREPARED- game cards with solutions for different outcomes and scouts are critical.
SIMPLE- 8-9 seconds is the average attention span. We are adding physical and mental stress to that in game. VALUE with fewer words is important.
POSITIVE- this is hard. We've all been there. But research shows that athletes at every level respond to positivity exponentially more than negativity.
JOY IS A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE.
Joe Mazulla has mastered this.
