Random thought: we had coaches attacking the 3 man weave and other drills because they didn’t represent the game. Now we have offensive players rip balls from the backside of defenders, defenders running around cones, etc.
If the goal was to recreate the game environment, things still look pretty weird.
@MartinBerliner@VicLombardi@AltitudeTV Shaq said he is windmill dunking like Vince Carter if he was in Jaden position. Its the playoffs and wants to embarrass you. If Shaq is fine with it then jokic should be too
@GetUpESPN are the hockey playoffs going on?? You even have the rights to broadcast them. But wait how did the Knicks do?? Haven’t seen you cover them yet!! 😠🥱
30 years ago I was the starting QB at Utah State University. My senior year I got benched. For the next 15 years I walked around feeling like a certified loser. Then I read this quote from Pat Summitt:
'Winning is fun… Sure. But winning is not the point.
Wanting to win is the point.
Not giving up is the point.
Never letting up is the point.
Never being satisfied with what you’ve done is the point.'
It snapped me out of it. If you’re still carrying a sports setback, a benching, a missed opportunity, or any “I’m not enough” story… this is your permission slip to drop it. The game isn’t over. Your story is not yet written. You are still a work in progress. The point is you keep wanting it. You keep getting up. And you listen to that quiet voice that says, "I will try again tomorrow."
If I were a 2027 High School Recruit…
AAU season means limited practices. Sometimes just 1–2 per week. That’s not enough to stay in a shooting rhythm.
You’ve got to get extra work in on your own.
Early in the week: high volume shooting. Less contact, lock in on form, build consistency, get reps.
Later in the week: game speed, game like intensity. Create shots off movement, simulate real situations, and build a scoring routine from all spots.
Chase efficiency. Move around the floor. Train with purpose.
The ability to catch and stick! Shoulders square, feet pointing to the target, ball immediately in the shooting pocket high and let it fly! Trainers should have no dribbling sessions, get open without the ball and shoot without putting ball on the floor!@TNTSportsUS
@CoachHackGO Use the same drill 4v4 or 5v5 trying to score by making a basket. Offense learns how to get open or get teammates open by screening. Will also do with the constraint that the defense must double the ball with 2 closest defenders. Also, great for conditioning.
@coachware@Coach__Strick@Coach_DeMarco I use to have a substitution sheet that the assistants would follow with subbing scripted until late second half (or 4th qtr) when I would take over. Worked really well. Also gave the players confidence because they knew they wouldn't be subbed out for a mistake.
