In this moment of unrest, violence and anger, we must remember the words of Dr. King, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” Let each of us try to be a light to see our country out of this dark moment.
And @GovRicketts if the reporting about denying vaccine access to undocumented workers is “fake news,” I am happy to be corrected by you publicly stating that all undocumented Nebraskans, including meatpacking workers, will have access to the vaccine. Thank you! ☺️
Given that I want EVERY Nebraskan to have vaccine access, including *every* meatpacker and not just *some*, I think I care about more Nebraskans than even Ricketts does.
And how insidious is it? Bennett Bressman ran field for our Governor’s last campaign as he posted 3,400+ comments on a white supremacist forum. Others who worked on the campaign said they had no idea he was a white supremacist - that’s bc it’s so normalized they don’t see it.
If the roles were reversed with an African American Man waving around a gun, firing shots, the white man who tackled him would be hailed a hero. This is hypocritical, sickening, and disgusting. This is not ok. Omaha needs better. This community needs better.
If you identify as a woman, and you’ve HAD to laugh to de-escalate an awkward situation with a man, please RT.
Could be unwarranted attention, a creepy joke, any form of harassment. Please RT
Don Kleine and Douglas County have made a huge mistake. James Scurlock was murdered, and his murderer should be put on trial. With this decision, our justice process never even had a chance to work.
please watch. please listen closely. if anyone has any information on this man / a link to his go fund me please let me know. this is absolutely not okay. we will not be silenced.
Jake Gardner (owner of the Hive) murdered James Scurlock last night and Jake is already out on bail.
If you have a heart, a brain, and care about People of Color, please never go to the Hive in Omaha again if it happens to reopen.
Instead of listening to Nebraska’s business leaders, Governor Ricketts is digging his heels in and fighting recommendations to extend anti-discrimination protections to LGBTQ Nebraskans. We agree with the Chamber of Commerce. Everyone should be welcome here.
Meanwhile @GovRicketts digs into his anti gay, anti business stance in response to the Chamber’s pro business, pro LGBT stance. He really leans into “Nebraska, it’s not for everyone.”
