Parental abandonment, SA in early childhood, the unhealthy environment she lived in, the absence of anyone who cared about Mary, etc. She literally didn't know what was like to be loved.

The whole issue of psychopaths is constantly encouraged by the media because we love to believe that monsters are born, not that they develop. It's pure marketing.

There would be no recovery for Mary if she really was one, but that's not what happened. It's more of a reformed sociopath than anything else.

@EjiroAtenaga @fasc1nate In the documentary "The Fury of an Angel" the girl who begins to demonstrate aggressive behaviors against men was also abused as a baby, but the adoptive family really cared and managed to treat her before it was too late. Mary was not so lucky.

At 11, after years of being sexually abused by her mother's clients, she killed without even understanding what death was at a time when she should have been at home under the supervision of a non-criminal adult.
