@ccampbell_11 @NHL @ScoutingTheRefs My concern remains, what's in it for the youth officials. If this is the way of the future I guess guys will just ref for the fun of it and the end goal will be memorial cups and international hockey rather than NHL. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Given the philosophy the @NHL has to hire former (failed) hockey players as officials, I wonder if they've considered how this will affect the future of officiating in minor hockey? Are we already seeing the impacts on? Genuinely curious... @ScoutingTheRefs

@ccampbell_11 @NHL @ScoutingTheRefs (2/2) only to be passed up for some guy that played 2 seasons in the ECHL. Like I said, I'm sure many former players could transition well, but the message it sends to kids wanting to climb the ranks as officials is stark.
