@scissormountain Eh, I dealt with infertility & miscarried 3 consecutive pregnancies after heartbeat and now have a daughter after moving mountains, pursuing surrogacy, etc. This doesn't offend me. Two things can be true. Motherhood is a miraculous privilege and it is challenging.

We found a local mom willing to help us, we treated her w/love & respect & she brought us a child we adore. Amoral?

@DelCoAbolition @LilaGraceRose Yes, but my point remains - the belief that using IVF & surrogacy to build our family is evil is based VERY heavily in religion, not morality. You are looking to impose religious beliefs, not just morality, on others.

I don’t understand the desire to impose your religious beliefs on others, especially through law or regulation, in a country founded on the separation of church and state.

@DelCoAbolition @LilaGraceRose Anecdotally, embryo adoption is fairly rare. Usually at least one person in the relationship has viable genetic material, and then you purchase donor eggs or sperm accordingly.

People who suffer recurrent miscarriage, people who lost their uterus to a traumatic birth, people who receive a diagnosis that makes carrying subsequent pregnancies life threatening, cancer patients.

@LilaGraceRose Yes, because she broke the contract that will now cost them a lifetime of heartbreak and medical bills. They likely spent more than $100k for the surrogacy journey, only for it to devolve into this shit show.
