@DanielEllsberg Thanks for all you’ve done for the U.S., Mr. Ellsberg. I’m retired now but for years I taught the Pentagon Papers case—and your role in it—to my undergraduate journalism students. Thank you for helping further the cause of press freedom.
@joshtpm Grassley, too. He was elected to the Senate my first year in college (I voted against him) and I just retired after a good career. He’s been there WAY too long.
@emry_dinman Great job on the two page one stories today, @emry_dinman. You explained the legal and moral issues around Spokane’s crisis of homelessness well.
@dugganreports@emry_dinman Good. Looks to me like the professor can prove all the elements of a successful libel suit: identification, publication, defamation, falsity and fault.
@GujaratiSukriti@PhDForum@PhD_Genie@AcademicChatter@TheStrugglingS4@ThePhDPlace I just retired from a tenured position. I loved my career. I adored my students and got to teach and research in areas I was passionate about. I had good colleagues and got to live in an awesome college town where my kids were raised with friends from around the world.
@ryanjthomas83 When I retired one of my/your future colleagues asked me, “so now who is going to ask questions at faculty meetings?” Perhaps you should pick up that mantle.
@ElieNYC I taught 1st Amendment law to undergraduate journalism students for 30+ years. I always told them when they voted for president they were really voting for the Supreme Court.
And one of the moms wants librarians arrested! If you don’t want your kids reading a certain book, that is within your family. You DON’T get to decide what other children read.
NEW: @HoodCountyTX Constable Chad Jordan says his office is conducting an "active and pending criminal investigation" following complaints from members of a school book review committee aggrieved that books were not removed from a high school library. https://t.co/lWUP8PxYGC
Our church has been vandalized several times. Pro Black Lives Matter yard signs were taken; our Little Free Library (painted rainbow colors) toppled, and pro-democracy banners stolen twice.
