सुना था वक्त अक्सर इम्तिहान लेता है, पिछले कुछ महीनों से मैं यह अनुभव भी कर रहा हूँ।

साल की शुरुआत में ही, मैंने पहले अपने नौजवान बेटे को खो दिया और फिर, इस महीने, 14 April को Singhitarai Power Plant में हुए अफसोसजनक हादसे ने, मुझसे 25 बेशकीमती साथी छीन लिए। मैं ऐसी असामयिक मृत्यु का दर्द भली भाँति जानता हूँ।

दोनों ही हादसे, इतने unnatural से, पीड़ा से भरे लगते हैं, जिसकी कोई कल्पना नहीं कर सकता।

मुझे दुख और हैरत होती है सोचकर कि हमारे इस Athena plant में हमने सर्वोच्च सावधानी बरती, इस plant की पूरी जिम्मेदारी भी हमने Hindustan की सबसे भरोसेमंद महारत्न company NTPC-GE की partnership NGSL को सौंपी। Contractors और Employees भी उनके थे। Expertise भी उनका था। और इसी भरोसे पे निश्चिंत होकर हमने इस plant का रखरखाव और operations, outsource किया था। फिर भी यह दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण हादसा हो गया।

यह वैसा ही है जैसे अक्सर वाहन मालिक, अपना वाहन किसी भरोसेमंद Driver को दे देते हैं। और उम्मीद करते हैं कि वाहन चालक और वाहन, नियमों के साथ चलकर सलामत रहेंगे।

Vedanta के हर contract में safety पे सबसे ज़्यादा focus रहता है। और NTPC और GE की भी यही policy रही है। उसके बाद भी इतनी बड़ी दुर्घटना हो जाए तो दिल टूट जाता है।

मेरे बेटे Agnivesh सहित, जो 25 प्रियजन हमने खोए हैं, उन सभी जनों को मैं, Vedanta परिवार और अपनी ओर से श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करता हूँ।

सच है कि होनी पर तो कोई बस नहीं है। Athena Plant के सारे के सारे पीड़ितों को मुआवज़ा मिल चुका है और आगे भी हमसे Vedanta Group Chairman के रूप में जो भी हो पाएगा, वो हम ज़रूर करेंगे।

🚨 A Dangerous Trend in Banking Culture: Viral Audio

What started in one Bank is now spreading.

From UPGB to Haryana Gramin Bank and if unchecked, it may soon reach other banks.

Listen this viral audio carefully
Reportedly from HGB- Nuh RM is heard saying:

→ Mention your last leave taken
→ Mention your last year’s growth
→ No need to take leave… manage it
→ We don’t have staff to approve leaves

Now we are seeing something unheard of:
→ Leave requests being linked to performance
→ Employees asked to disclose leave history
→ Growth numbers being demanded before granting leave

Since when did leave become a reward?
→ Leave is not a bonus.
→ Leave is not an incentive.
→ Leave is a basic right of an employee.

What’s more concerning is the silence.

A direct question to PNB:
Is this the work culture being encouraged?
Or is this happening with silent approval?

Because silence at the top often becomes pressure at the bottom.

Let’s be honest.
This is not about discipline.
This is about impressing higher authorities, showing “control” over staff to chase promotions, PLI, and visibility.

But leadership is not about fear.
Leadership is not about denying basic rights.

Banking is already under pressure:
• Staff shortage
• High targets
• Compliance burden
• Public dealing stress

And now employees must “justify” even their leave?
This is not professionalism. This is institutional pressure.

If this trend continues, it won’t improve performance
it will only increase burnout, frustration, and silent resentment.

Time to ask tough questions.
Time to call this out.

What did leadership deliver?
👉 Just ONE DAY strike
👉 Then complete silence on PLI

Now again the same script
Black badges, black ribbons, WhatsApp exit, symbolic protests

Seriously?
Is this a movement or just a time pass routine?

Bankers are not fools anymore.
This cycle is now crystal clear
Build pressure → divert with symbolic actions → delay real strike → cool everything down

And now again
“Strike decision in May or June”

Why later? WHY NOT NOW?

If you are serious, then show it with action
→ Declare 3 day strike dates
→ Declare 5 day strike dates
→ Declare indefinite strike roadmap

WITHOUT THIS nothing will move
WITHOUT THIS bankers will NOT follow

Leaders like Rupam Roy and Venkat Chellam must understand

→ Credibility is collapsing
→ Bankers are losing trust
→ Symbolic protests do not scare anyone

Her name is Rohini Sindhuri.

She is a 2009 batch IAS officer posted in Karnataka.

In 2018, she was the District Collector of Hassan. She discovered illegal sand mining happening every night from the rivers in her district. She stopped it.

Local politicians were furious. They went to the Chief Minister.

Within days, she was transferred out of Hassan.

She fought it in the Karnataka High Court. The court ruled her transfer was illegal and ordered the government to reinstate her.

The government reinstated her.

Then transferred her again.

She went back to court. She kept going back to court every single time the system tried to silence her.

Between 2018 and 2023, she was transferred seven times. Each transfer came within weeks of her exposing something.

She never stopped working. She never stopped filing cases. She never stopped showing up.

India has a system where honesty is punished with transfers. Rohini Sindhuri refused to accept that as her final answer.

She is still in service today.
