@tuuu28283 Being from Japan, unless you're VERY accustomed to driving on the right side of the road in a left-hand-drive car, I would NOT rent a car. It's VERY easy to become confused by the differences in right-hand and left-hand traffic. It's better to ask your American friends for help.

@tuuu28283 There are some good answers here, but also some not so good answers. The pronunciation is "thee" when the next word begins with a vowel, and the pronunciation is like "thuh" when the following word begins with a consonant. So, it would be "thee" apple but "thuh" car.
