The Dutch Opium Law prohibits the cultivation, sale, delivery, carrying, and transportation of narcotics within or outside the Netherlands, except for the use and sale of cannabis under specific circumstances and conditions. This policy forces them to convert their “white” money into “black” money.

Contrary to popular belief, cannabis is not legal in the Netherlands. In recent years, the country has been plagued by the growing influence of powerful drug gangs and the violence of organized crime.

The Dutch cannabis legalization project, which launched its pilot phase in late 2023, required regulating the sale of permitted cannabis. Traders told Al Arabiya English, “It is a weird law.”
