In 2022, as a Google intern, I sent a random calendar invite to Jeff Dean.

He accepted.

His calendar was accessible even to interns, so I figured I had nothing to lose.

The next day, I sent this photo to my team. Everyone was shocked.

It’s hard to imagine Google without Jeff. He’s been one of my biggest inspirations.

How did a developer from the Netherlands spend $1,000 on his best mini PC?

People often overpay for everyday items. Products are sold under different names at a lower price.

The developer wanted to buy a mini PC for $2,100 called the Mac Studio.

I suggested my own option for $480 with the same specifications.

A 2 TB SSD was added for $95 and some tasks were transferred.

→ Results over the period of use

→ API costs fell from $96 to $18

→ The saving amounted to $390

→ The computer is running and consuming less power

→ Electricity costs: $5

Total savings amounted to $1,500

It’s better to spend the money saved on upgrading the equipment you’ve bought. You could buy an additional SSD and increase the memory.

Companies can save a significant amount of space. You can also save money by using these mini PCs.

And you can run local models. They can solve your problems and save you time.
