What kind of debate moderators don’t know this level of basic facts?
I get that Biden shit the bed. Many presidents have before as well. Debates are like old school boxing matches for the candidates. Bad nights happen, as do comebacks.
But for two seasoned newscasters to omit a single fact check, AND fail to open with the convicted felonies - an historic first for a former POTUS, is intentional malpractice. To continue the analogy: the refs are on the take.
Other journalists, serious journalists, must now ask “why?”
Those two newscasters (and everyone in their newsroom) have had years now - almost a decade - to prepare for donald the liar. To develop a skill set - a strategy based in journalistic integrity - to counter lies for the benefit of the American people. To hold truth to power. And this is what we get instead - AGAIN? A dangerous liar platformed without check? Then we’re gaslit about it, because the network trots out this one dude for a post-debate fact check?
What the fuck is going on at @CNN?
My God. The plundering and violent death of America’s promise really will fall at the feet of those who call themselves “news.” They know better, yet point every finger elsewhere.
