The OIA concluded another successful World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland this week, participating in meetings with leadership from the World Health Organization's Traditional, Complementary & Integrative Medicine Unit, the Global Self-Care Federation and WHA77 sessions.

OIA Chair Boyd Buser, DO, Chair-elect Philippe Sterlingot and Secretariat Raine Richards represented the osteopathic profession at Walk the Talk: Health for All Challenge. The event took place on 26 May 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland to kick off the 77th World Health Assembly.
Osteopathic educators and regulators support and promote evidence-based practice (EBP), encouraging the study and use of best available evidence, clinical experience, and patient preferences to make informed patient care decisions.
Osteopathic health care is for every person, for all ages and stages of life. Osteopathy aims to improve the person’s overall well-being, considering the biological, sociological, psychological and spiritual needs of people as part of their local communities.

June 2023 marks 20 years since the OIA was launched! In June 2003, 34 individuals representing 10 countries and 17 organizations met in Chicago
to organize an International Osteopathic Association. Since then, the OIA has grown to represent more than 70 members in 21 countries!
OIA Chair @bbuserdo, Chair-elect @psterlingot and Secretariat, Raine Richards, attended the opening session of the 76th meeting of the World Health Assembly today in Geneva, Switzerland. The OIA serves as the vehicle for the global osteopathic profession within the WHO.
