🇪🇬 In Egypt in 1960, there was a mass escape of patients from Al-Abbasiya Hospital for the mentally ill due to negligence on the part of the security guards.

A total of 243 patients fled to the streets of the Al-Abbasiya district, causing a serious problem.

The administrative director immediately called the hospital doctor, Dr. Jamal, and demanded that he resolve the situation urgently.

Dr. Jamal quickly came up with an original solution: he took a whistle, gathered several employees, lined them up in a chain, told them to hold on to each other, and went out into the street, pretending to be a train. He walked in front, whistling loudly and shouting:

"Toot-toot! Toot-toot! 🚂"

The staff who followed him acted as train cars, holding on to each other.

And exactly what the doctor expected happened:
every escaped patient who saw the "train" joined it, and Dr. Jamal was able to gather all the fugitives and return them to the hospital.

However, another problem arose:
when they counted the returnees, it turned out that there were more of them than there had been escapees.
