#MDGA21 was declared the “police reform” session because of the protests after George Floyd, Breonna Taylor were killed. Right now, as the country is watching the murder trial in MN, @MDSenators are gutting protections against officers’ use of force. Is this justice???
@willcsmith@senbillferg You need to concede to the House's use of force standard! The standard JPR created was unconstitutional, and would utterly fail to keep people safe. Maryland deserves better than a standard that only meets the bare minimum constitutional floor! #MDGA21

(2) Make it illegal to hire bad officers from another jurisdiction
(3) Require an officer to intervene when another officer uses excessive force and provide Whistleblower protection for that officer
(4) Appoint civilians to the Police Review Board
In a narrow 4-3 vote, Baltimore County Council tabled plans to vote on legislation banning police chokeholds and other reforms due in part to amendments that would’ve “gutted” the bill. The @BaltCoExec said that decision shows “we have a long way to go.” https://t.co/yysQYck7JS
