@BenColeyGolf@arlowhite That's fine, I get what you are saying too, BUT the timing feels disingenuous. And when we find out it is disingenuous, it will be too late and the Australian Open will suffer long term and global golf will suffer.
@BenColeyGolf@arlowhite That's kind of the point: they are praying LIV dies by then, and will pull out of Australia after. PGAT doesn't care about growing the game, they care about killing LIV and going back to their monopoly they've enjoyed for decades
@BenColeyGolf@arlowhite Top players already skip signature events. If PGAT can't "make" them tee it up at the events that line their wallets, how will they make them fly down to Australia?
@wingoz@JustinRayGolf Here's my questions that need answers:
-Why did PGAT all of a sudden become interested in the Australian Open?
-How did they eff up the Rocket Mortgage sponsorship?
-When did you sell your soul to be this abomination: Eamon Lynch adjacent, paid off, biased, PGAT mouthpiece?
Here's the @livgolf_league major qualification tracker! Updated for the #USOpen & #TheOpen.
13 players going to Shinnecock & that's unlikely to change.
14 currently for @TheOpen with Final Qualification June 30.
Italian🇮🇹(1) & Scottish🏴Open(3) have OQS spots as well.
After speaking to #LIVGolf execs recently, most finally realize what they’re up against re: the negativity in media & some blockers in the golf establishment. Some have always known - others better late than never I suppose. If they want to have success (particularly in 🇺🇸), you gotta fight 🔥 with 🔥. Optics matter to the opposition, so you have to damage their optics & put them on the back foot. Personally I think there are 2 immediate things to be done:
1️⃣ You have a lot of info on the PGAT & associated skullduggery over the course of the last 4 years. Start flooding that info out into the ether.
2️⃣ Time to #ReleaseTheFiles on ALL players that had offers or were negotiating with LIV. Particularly the bigger names. I know of 20 at least and I should start posting soon myself. Truth needs to just be out there.
They’ve tried & continue to try & damage reputations & sow seeds of doubt. Now they’re trying to block LIV’s plan to strengthen national opens with more establishment talk that won’t actually result in any real change. While the Tour is overconfident in LIV’s demise, now’s the time for LIV to go on the offensive. #ArtOfWar
@ProGolfCritic Good work Scott, questions asked were a little biased, but well navigated. LIVs tournaments have been way more compelling than PGAT lately. No "load management", team contracts, team sponsors. Operates like any other major sports league. All metrics are up year over year.
@PGATOUR So PGAT is co-sponsoring the Australian Open now (not because they care to grow the game, but just to undermine LIV Golf) and will likely send B tier players to compete making the event worse. They also lose the Rocket Mortgage classic today. Who is making these decisions?
@ScottONeil Questions were a tad biased but you handled them well. LIV has the star power and committed players. US golf media has their own narrative they WANT to write, but WHEN you succeed they will be forced to tell a new narrative: THE TRUTH.
