While vertical transmission makes up such a small portion of #HIV cases in Canada, it is a huge issue globally particularly in Africa and is hindering global progress to 90-90-90. Lack of access to #ARV treatment is the main problem and highlights the need for ↑ global funding.

Dr. Laura Sauve presenting on HIV in Children in our latest BC-CfE Webinar. While we have made great strides in preventing vertical transmission of #HIV in Canada, we still see (partly due to #COVID19) some transmission including 3 cases in BC last year after >15 years w/o.
