TD District Leader of 10 branches on Vancouver Island, BC. Passionate about reshaping the Colleague and Customer Experience. Opinions expressed are my own.
I thought it would be liberating to free myself from my daily rambling here but I already miss it—on my first day back from vacation. Is it possible to substitute habits rather than start the clock on forming a new one?
#OnTheDL, Day 365: I wanted to take a moment and thank each of you that have followed and supported me through my leadership journey this year ❤️—have learned much from pausing to reflect each day. Closing off this series today with a new approach year 2. #Staytuned#OffTheDL 🙏
I have been blessed with leaders and mentors that have made this year the most rapid in my development and confidence. Most days I’ve had a dozen great options for #OnTheDL. The path ahead is exciting!
#OnTheDL, Day 364: Have been reminiscing about my year in the role. Funny thing is I’d still say I make it through my days “mostly” successfully. Here’s to levelling up in year 2.
Hey made it through day one of the new job (mostly) successfully! So used to my usual routines that it feels a bit wild to shake it up. Here’s to new adventures! Thanks for the welcomes from the new team and thoughtful goodbyes from amazing colleagues and customers in branch!
#OnTheDL, Day 361: Spent a really satisfying day connecting with current and prospective colleagues. Set my away message and held a quick “Family Stand Up” to hype the kids up on our vacation plans next week. Rounding out a year on the DL in Kelowna? Yes please. #thanksBruce 😎🏖️
#OnTheDL, Day 360: There is no way it is a coincidence when I think about someone I haven’t spoken to a while and then they reach out to me out of the blue. Does this happen often to anyone else or is it my superpower? 🦸♂️
#OnTheDL, Day 359: It occurred to me today that while nearly everything I do at work is framed into quarters, outside of work I can’t think of anything I have chunked that way. My kids gonna love their Q4 chores.
#OnTheDL, Day 358: Ok. Keeping track of who I’ve already shared things with (stuff not in my notes) gets much more complicated when I do a lot of back to back meetings. In the likely event my memory doesn’t improve I should introduce a signal people can use to bail quicker 🤐😥
#OnTheDL, Day 354: This past year I have posted a “dad joke” each Friday for our team. I pre test them with my family—the more my they groan the more I know I hit gold. Also I have a stockpile of them for the next year. In case of a zombie apocalypse I can trade them for tuna.
Located in Bamfield on Vancouver Island, Kiix̣in is the only known First Nations village on the southern coast of British Columbia where elements of traditional longhouses still stand. Learn more about taking a tour with @kiixintours here on #ZenSeekers

#OnTheDL, Day 353: It can't be a coincidence. It often happens that the solution to something I've been stuck on for a while emerges quite quickly from a new, completely unrelated problem. I feel like this is a big benefit of jobs that work on many things at the same time.
Hi Twitter friends- have any of you had experience with Toastmasters? I’m looking for ways to enhance my communication skills at a pace beyond what I organically learn through my work. Any suggestions?
#OnTheDL, Day 352: Had the honour of presenting our prestigious Green Chair award to the TD Courtenay team for their top rated customer satisfaction on Vancouver Island in the month of June. Their team knows how to go #beyond for their Customers! Wow!
#OnTheDL, Day 351: Such a beautiful day to start two weeks of branch visits across Vancouver Island, starting in Sooke. Side note: I stand by my solid suggestion of seasonal pop up outdoor banks, complete with tiki bars.
