Some DON'T'S:
DON'T: Show up unprepared.
DON'T: Take anything for granted.
DON'T: Ever assume that you have it made.
DON'T: Just do the bare minimum in the off-season and follow the herd.
Do: Seek to stand out from the pack and OUTWORK EVERYBODY! 100% on every drill.
DO: Never walk between drills.
DO: At the conclusion of the camp, meet with the position coach and head coach to say thank you.
DO: Always ask what you can do to be better.
DO: Have fun!
Some DO's:
DO: Register in advance
DO: Show up early
DO: If possible, email coach in advance
DO: Always look coaches right in the eye when you speak them and use “yes sir” and “no sir.”
DO: Be a leader / front of the line for every drill.
DON’T: Just go perform and leave without any appreciation or follow-up.
DO: After the camp, send a personal follow-up email. Express your sincere interest in their program again, link to your recruit profile/video, and urge them to contact you back if there’s anything they need!
DON’T: Be shy and ignore college coaches when you are in front of them!
DO: Take advantage of your small moment to be seen! Shake hands, introduce yourself, be a polite and stand-up student-athlete by showing outgoingness, maturity, & expressing verbal interest in their program!
DON'T: Sit back and just wait for coaches to magically find you and invite you to camp.
DO: Be proactive and reach out to coaches ASKING FOR A CAMP INVITE!
