I’m not saying Graham Platner should or shouldn’t be a candidate for a Senate seat, but I am saying that the media’s treatment of Platner as compared to its treatment of Ken Paxton is the same as the media’s treatment of Joe Biden as compared to its treatment of Donald Trump. The media bolsters the MAGA narrative that there’s never a decent Democrat nor an indecent MAGA Republican.
Dear @ScottPelley
Thank you.
Thank you for standing up when it was inconvenient.
Thank you for standing up when it cost you a job you loved.
Thank you for standing up to power and for trying to save a landmark news program.
Thank you for your INTEGRITY.
Scott Pelley issues new statement after being fired by CBS for opposing their pro-MAGA bias:
“New management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story. I’ve been told to include assertions that are unverified. To date, in every case, I have managed to ignore these instructions or refuse them.
Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over 60 Minutes interviews is not how this is done.
Finally, incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc. In a case involving one of my stories, the entire program came within 19 minutes of not getting on the air at all.”
Much of professional development in education is built on the illusion that teaching is more complicated than it truly is.
Instead of simply asking students to read, write, think, and discuss, we bury ourselves in jargon, acronyms, data charts, and endless protocols.
I really miss this kind of America.
Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford ran against each other in 1976.
When Ford passed away, Carter gave the eulogy at his funeral.
When Carter passed away, Ford’s son Steve spoke at Carter’s funeral.
Barack Obama and John McCain ran against each other in 2008.
When McCain passed away, Obama gave the eulogy at his funeral.
They disagreed. They debated. They fought hard for what they believed in.
But at the end of the day, they still saw each other as human beings. As Americans.
That is the part we have lost.
Somewhere along the way, disagreement turned into hatred. Politics turned into teams. And people forgot that respect does not mean you agree with someone on everything.
I still believe we can get back to this.
Not because it will be easy. Not because everyone will suddenly think the same.
But because America is supposed to be better than this.
Bipartisan respect used to be possible.
And someday, I pray we remember how to do it again. 🇺🇸💙
I have often been asked where I would rate certain presidents. So I sat down and reviewed the top achievements of all 43 men who served in the office for longer than six months. If they had a major scandal or failure, I dropped them a bit. Here’s how I ended up rating them: (1/)
@DougFlutie my childhood neighbor here in Biddeford Maine played with you briefly Dennis Gadbois #82 seen in this photo. He and his family donated this photo and I’ll be donating it to his High School.
So, are we excited for the return of "some" Pizza Huts being restored to the look and feel we loved?
Pac-Man, salad bar, red cups and more are coming back! 🍕
BREAKING: A reporter just asked Mike Johnson for the first time at a press conference, “Why should we even ask you any questions today when you never read or hear about anything anyway?”
In January 2009, President George W. Bush invited President-elect Barack Obama and former Presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter to the White House for a meeting and lunch.
So Mike Johnson and many republicans are against banning Members of Congress from trading stocks because inflation makes their salary less valuable.
Here’s an idea: if $174k a year isn’t enough for you, then resign and let someone who is willing to work the job do it.
There are plenty of young people who would be willing to give up stock trading for that salary. And they would actually get stuff done.
And if $174k isn’t enough for people to take care of their family, then how the hell is minimum wage?
But Alabama was a Championship worthy team with a blowout loss to 5-7 FSU, a loss to 2 loss Oklahoma, & a blowout loss in a rematch vs Georgia.
You got it😂 @finebaum
Notre Dame is really a suburb of Chicago located in Indiana but culturally Michigan with its fanbase spread nationally and concentrated in east coast cities like New York, Boston, and Philadelphia.
It’s also a school that was founded by the French, attended by ethnic Catholics (Irish, Italian, Polish, etc.), named after the Irish, became a symbol of the immigrant experience, and is a home for everyone regardless of their identity or beliefs.
I love us so much. A community brought together beyond geography that calls upon people who may share the same value system, or religion, or ethnicity, or history, or just pure love for a cultural icon and institution.
We can all identify with and love Notre Dame.

When your name is Oil Can Boyd, you better believe pretty soon you’re gonna require a sweet pair of shades, neck towel, and an embroidered jacket with “Oil Can Boyd” on it.
