@ANI Indian government now suddenly cozying up to BNP is pure political opportunism. Bangladeshis haven’t forgotten the 17 years of backing Hasina’s authoritarian rule, the damage to our sovereignty, or the unresolved killing of 57 army officers AND Adani looting.

Bangladesh elections:
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has won against Jamaat-e-Islami.
During BNP's rule (2001–2006), the anti-India militant group ULFA operated from Bangladeshi territory.
Jamaat-e-Islami is openly an anti-India and pro-Pakistan party. In fact, it opposed Bangladesh's independence in 1971.
For India, this election was about watching two evils and hoping the less harmful one would prevail.
If Jamaat-e-Islami had won, it would have worked as Pakistan's proxy. BNP has won, but India is still likely to face strategic and security challenges.
