We often talk about the importance of change, yet it remains one of the hardest things to implement. From personal fitness goals to professional development, the ability to pivot is what separates the stagnant from the successful.
When you look at your own field, where do you see the most resistance to change? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I recently helped my daughter with an Economics assignment on supply-and-demand. While a real-world case study on DIMM memory shortage for my daughter was helpful, it is unfortunate for many who are experiencing the challenges of pricing increases in the server market. If you havent been following along, in summary here is what the industry is faced with:
The Supply: Memory fabs are complex and slow to scale. With manufacturers prioritizing HBM for GPUs, standard server DRAM is facing a shortage.
The Demand: AI data centers are driving a massive need for high-capacity DRAM. AI-driven demand now consumes over 50% of total industry supply, with server memory requirements continuing to climb.
The Result: Prices are surging. Take a look at Micron’s stock hitting an all-time high as a datapoint for this "memory supercycle" which is a textbook example of supply-and-demand with billions of dollars at stake.
What supply/demand imbalances are you seeing in your industry right now? Drop a note in the comments to share.

Many experts now believe that General AI intelligence (AGI) is already present. My co-workers, customers, and I are engaging in numerous discussions about the capabilities of AI systems, which can now:
1. Reason through complex, multi-step problems.
2. Write code, analyze data, create strategy, and generate creative assets from a single prompt to resolve issues and enhance efficiency.
3. Act as autonomous agents that plan and execute workflows.
The question has shifted from “Is it intelligent?” to more critical inquiries:
For leaders and executives:
- What parts of our business will become 10x more productive in the next 12–18 months due to AI?
- Which roles will evolve, and which will diminish — and how can we retrain or redesign them now?
- How do we establish defensible moats when intelligence becomes a commodity?
For professionals and teams:
- Am I utilizing AI as a junior teammate today, or am I still treating it like a sophisticated search engine?
- What new skills (prompt engineering, verification frameworks, AI orchestration) do I need to remain indispensable?
- How can I amplify my output while concentrating on the deeply human elements that AI cannot replicate (yet)

Some organizations are still contemplating a full transition of their data to the cloud. However, there are compelling reasons why both small and large organizations are opting for hybrid cloud strategies, including:
- More cost-effective in the long term
- Easier to secure on-premise
- Better performance for enterprises
- Allows for greater flexibility
These factors highlight the advantages of a hybrid approach in today's evolving technological landscape. Vendor lock-in is another concern for CTOs. To mitigate risk, a hybrid, multi-cloud approach is becoming the new normal. To date, it is estimated that 90% of large organizations have now adopted a hybrid or multi-cloud approach. Let me know if any of these reasons resonate with you or whether I am missing something important.
As we celebrate Good Friday, I am reminded in Gospel of Mark when Jesus himself said:
“Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.” (Mark 10:18 NIV)
This verse has stayed with me over the years because it’s a humbling reminder that none of us are perfect. It’s also a reminder of why we needed Jesus sacrifice 2000+ years ago, and the meaning for why many are celebrating today.
Wishing everyone a meaningful and peaceful Good Friday. Whether you’re observing it with family, in quiet reflection, or balancing it with work, may you find strength, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose.
🙏

OpenAI just closed their latest funding round with $122B in committed capital at an $852B valuation, now generating $2B in monthly revenue. They are growing 4x faster than tech giants like Alphabet and Meta.
While these top-line numbers are staggering, they omit critical financial metrics like OpEx and actual profitability. This hyper-growth can also create unrealistic expectations for other enterprises, especially given the 77% industry failure rate for AI initiatives.
To address these industry-wide challenges, Cisco is prioritizing radical simplicity. By delivering full-stack, hybrid cloud-managed solutions, Cisco enables organizations to accelerate deployment times and significantly mitigate the risk of project failure.
This is where Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) managed by Cisco Intersight becomes a game-changer. By providing a single, cloud-based operating model, Intersight simplifies infrastructure management across the data center and the edge. In fact, according to IDC, organizations leveraging Cisco UCS with Intersight realize up to a 58% lower 5-year cost of operations.
Ready to build a sustainable, cost-effective AI strategy? Let me know if I can assist you in planning your next initiative!
For organizations seeking a robust case study on modern data center architecture, Cisco IT provides a real world example. In summary, Cisco IT architected a state-of-the-art AI infrastructure leveraging Cisco UCS, integrated with NVIDIA GPUs, and advanced Cisco networking. The design features a front-end Ethernet network paired with a back-end lossless Ethernet fabric, ensuring a highly reliable, performant, and scalable environment.
The implementation of these comprehensive Cisco solutions yielded significant operational benefits:
Rapid Deployment: The back-end AI network fabric was deployed in under three hours.
Accelerated Time-to-Value: The complete AI infrastructure was designed and fully operational within three months—an 80% acceleration compared to traditional rebuild timelines.
Enhanced AI Capabilities: The modernized infrastructure currently empowers the business by supporting over 25 distinct AI use cases across the enterprise.
