Christian. Husband to a beautiful wife. Father of 4. Conservative. Sickened by the MAGA grift (Kirk, Owens, Cernovich, Poso, Knowles, et. al). #desantis2024
@NCravatt Well, Trump says he’s weighing a 16 week federal limit on abortion as a compromise position, so I’m not sure he’s much better than Biden on this.
@dalejitsu@doomsdayslam @coachanthonyd What proper exegesis of Scripture would lead someone to conclude a tattoo is wise? I can think of several Biblical reasons it’s unwise.
@Crimestory21@PhilipDerrida But that’s his point…the modern soft Christian who would excuse attending a trans wedding would be mortified at the thought of celebrating racism. His example is specifically targeting those thinkers, not guys like you and I who already ageee homo weddings are sinful.
@Crimestory21@PhilipDerrida I guess I’m dumb as I honestly don’t know what point you’re making. You are mocking his example but not demonstrating why he’s wrong.
@PhilipDerrida If you listen to the video he states very clearly why this example is valid, ie the only difference is that the lgbtq community has successfully convinced Christians that they are victims whereas there is a consensus that white supremacy is bad. Try listening 1st next time.
@Joe_Rainone @bgiromini @Janet_Mefferd You’ve got it reversed. The analogy would be that trans people trying to marry doesn’t make the Godly institution of marriage a bad thing, just like offering meat to idols doesn’t make meat bad. But that’s different than saying the gay wedding or the idol worship itself is ok.
@Joe_Rainone @bgiromini @Janet_Mefferd Again, no. It’s the difference between Paul eating meat that had been offered to idols vs. being a party to the idol worship itself. These are 2 different things.
@Joe_Rainone @bgiromini @Janet_Mefferd It’s not just a fake wedding though, it’s taking the most sacred institution God established and making a mockery of it. The question is not ‘does the grandson know i disagree’? Rather it is, ‘is God ok with me/a Christian being a party to the celebration of abomination?’ No
I like Matt. I doubt he’ll address this exchange on his show Monday, but if he does, I guarantee he will not say a word about the Trump grift within conservative media, but will instead focus on criticizing RDS’ X following.
@DefiantBaptist@AutonomousAllie I can’t remember the specifics, but at one point Dave tweeted to Matt something like ‘welcome to the club’ when Matt offered a mild rebuke of Trump, and Matt’s response on X was ‘what are you talking about’? I need to try and find it.
@daiyusan96@MattWalshBlog This is simply not true. By Matt’s own standard, Trumps answer should have been disqualifying. The most Matt could muster was a tepid correction at the top of 1 episode. He spent more time criticizing RDS awkward hand-raise during the first debate.
Matt FWIW, I brought my 15 year old daughter to hear you speak at Georgia Tech at the height of the swim controversy. So when I say I’m a fan, I mean that sincerely. How was Trumps response to ‘what is a woman?’ not disqualifying?
Thanks but I’ve learned from Twitter this weekend that actually getting laws changed and actively shutting down gender mutilation clinics doesn’t matter and isn’t important if I don’t also post whatever tweets people on this site want me to post. The tweeting is what really matters. Not the real world changes that we are fighting for and actively achieving.
@daiyusan96@MattWalshBlog Matt’s willingness to take on the hard fights and speak hard truths is precisely why people are upset with him concerning his silence on Trump’s multitude of disqualifications.
Note that of all his replies over the weekend, he hasn’t once engaged with the core argument.
