Admit it. Yorkshire Folk can be proper moaners & news these days doesn't exactly help. Bradford Positive Press will share good news stories from the district!
Well it became quite difficult to remain positive on here. So I moved over to https://t.co/lHTBX1Cbh0 where I'm hoping to resume the positivity in a less toxic environment! Give me a follow if you are migrating over.
Photo is unrelated but the caption is 'Be a Good Man'.
A great piece on Look North last night featuring talented Young musicians from Bradford performing on stage at the Alhambra with the @AladdinOnStage orchestra.
Great article in August's @runnersworlduk about the The JogOn campaign, launched by Bradford's Neighbourhood Policing Team. It aims to make streets safer for female runners, encouraging the reporting of harassment and includes active bystander training. https://t.co/Jr7EvyWQTZ
Took a 4 year old to the Dragon Boat Festival today... He wasn't right keen, scared they'd sink. But he was far more interested in the @IanBeesleyphoto exhibition at Salts Mill. He loved this photo of a bloke up a ladder and "The Illustrated Man".
Find out how Bradford has influenced the work of New York based artist @BryonyElla
"The scent of cow parsley, towering green and white above her, still draws Bryony Ella back to her childhood in Bradford."

Well that's a happy coincidence... I've recently started reading 'Fabulosa' by @_paulbaker_ My first introduction to Polari and I've been chewing people's ears off about how interesting a read it is! And then this event with @polarisalon pops up on my timeline! Perfect timing.
A ginkgo sapling from a Hiroshima survivor tree was planted at the University of Bradford to mark 50 years of Peace Studies. Symbolizing resilience and hope for a nuclear-free world, it features a plaque and QR code linking to its mother tree in Hiroshima.

@Opera_North@LeedsPlayhouse Fantastic performance, the highlight being the fabulous ensemble, and orchestra. The most perfect Henry Higgins and a very witty save in the first scene! Bravo.💐💐
The original 1930’s boilers have inspired the newly created “Boiler Room Bar” which also utilises huge stone floor slabs. These were found during excavation and belonged to Whitaker’s Brewery which occupied the site prior to the building of the New Victoria. @HeritageFundNOR
Some more detailed info in @ArchitectsJrnal about the Bradford City Village ECF scheme - including plans on how the concrete from Kirkgate will be reformed & recycled. @5plusarch

OTD in 1976, Richard Dunn took on Muhammad Ali for the heavyweight world championship! Ali retained his title but Dunn's determination left a lasting legacy. With the Park & Ride work starting soon it would be good to know what's happening to Grade II listed Richard Dunns!

I swear Bradford folk say the most unintentionally funny things. I've started keeping a note. Today someone in all seriousness said to me:
"Well who wants badgers on their land, right fair. They eat right through your house foundations."
📺 We had an amazing time on telly last night, hitting the high notes with Nish Kumar and Josh Widdicombe, talking all things Bradford Opera Festival! 🎭🎤 #BarberOfSeville#TVDebut
