@courtney883 Strange is indeed one word to describe it. :) Just re-seed. Or get rid of divisions and seed accordingly. Or play a more balanced inside your division schedule. Or like, 8 other things besides choosing teams like grade school recess.
@courtney883 Disappointing outcome, for sure. But this is perplexing. One thing to make 'by the book' decisions, but not in a vacuum. At first it felt like over managing. Now it feels like a lack of. Color me confused. New day tomorrow.
@courtney883 Of course, Venable has been great and no strategy will be perfect. Everything is easy from an armchair and w/ hindsight. But too many 2 AB's pulled in the 5th. i.e. let Doyle play a full game. Grichuk / Peters, etc. Pinch hit late, fine. Again, just whiteboarding here lol
@courtney883 Seems fair. Sorta felt like the vibe we all thought going into the deadline, ya? Kinda like seeing some spending tbh, no matter the grade.
@courtney883 Has he even played 162 in the show yet? Still so young and going to have growing pains. As usual, multiple things are true; still young and needs refining, still has crazy power and the defense at SS/3B plays anytime. Good teammate.
@KenWo4LiFe Two things can be true. New to 1B sure, but not new to the game of baseball. Made a really good play on the ball and then a terrible one not even glancing at the runner at 3rd. The kid is a rookie and a talented one. He'll learn and be better. But no way around it this was bad.
@JRFegan Thrown out at 3rd for the 1st out and a wild pitch with the bases jacked are the difference thus far and the type of baseball plays that the Sox continue to be on the wrong side of. Let's see if they can get past it here in the 9th...
@Jomboy_ For me, it’s about appreciating baseball for the nuance of the game. The cadence. The players being calculated and intelligent. This feels forced, abrupt. Trying to understand how people who love baseball want to limit this. IMO, it hurts the game and certainly the players
