NME supported BTS. 🔥
"Pop music is pop music, regardless of geographical location, the racial or ethnic identity of those making it, the language it’s sung in, or any other factor you might choose to segregate people by."

Their absolutely right about this.. been side eyeing the Grammys and their categories ever since they added “Contemporary Country Album” and “Traditional Country Album” categories as soon as black folks started making commercially successful country music.
After years of Recording Academy snubs and the introduction of the Asian-focused category, BTS are boycotting the Grammys by not submitting their music for consideration:
“We hope our music can be heard and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language. We thank Army and everyone who has always stood by us.”
Forbes on BTS’ decision to not submit for Grammy consideration:
“But as BTS continue smashing records and the Grammys continue to lose relevance, who really needs who?”
Sometimes the bravest decision isn't chasing what you've always wanted, it's choosing yourself instead. If a space repeatedly makes you feel unseen or unwelcome, protecting your peace is never a loss. BTS continues to teach that lesson to me.
7/7.
“we have decided not to submit for the grammys this year.
we hope that music can be heard and appreciated for what it is, rather than being defined by region or language.
thank you to army and to everyone who has always supported us.”
