I had Claude extract just the Thomas dissent because it is so brilliant. Now it is published separately. It's a book for the ages. https://t.co/QNuNNAAYD2
As a naturalized U.S. citizen who came here the legal way from South Africa, this issue sits heavily on my heart.
For more than ten years, my family and I applied for the diversity visa lottery. We researched every possible legal pathway to immigrate to the United States. The process felt overwhelming and strict , as it should be. Our chances were low, but we did the right thing. We kept applying, with patience and respect for the rules, while living our lives in South Africa.
When we finally received our green cards, the joy was indescribable. Today we participate fully in American society. We work hard, pay our taxes, vote in every election, and love this country deeply.
Later in life, I married an American and together we have two children.
So I have to ask: Are we truly saying that a visitor can arrive in this country, give birth in a local hospital, and that child is automatically an American citizen?
What does the future hold if the borders are opened wide? Are we prepared for waves of people traveling here specifically to secure U.S. citizenship for their children through birth?
How does this make you feel?
As someone who waited years, followed every rule, and earned my place here, this system feels profoundly unfair. Very few countries in the world , including my home country of South Africa , grant citizenship based solely on being born on their soil.
I’m not a lawyer, but this seems like a loophole that undermines the very meaning of legal immigration.
I’d love to hear your honest thoughts.
After working for 40 years, the average Social Security recipient gets $1850/month.
After being in America for 40 minutes, the average illegal “refugee” gets $3874/month.
And red or blue, that should PISS EVERYONE OFF.
🚨 🚨 THE SD GOP HAS 3 OPTIONS AFTER THE PRESLER DISASTER. ALL 3 ARE CATASTROPHIC.
This is the moment nobody wants to talk about.
After denying Scott Presler entry with a ticket in hand, putting a BOLO photo of him at the door, and getting caught on video saying "Get the hell outta here" → the South Dakota Republican Party is now boxed into THREE choices. And every single one is a nightmare:
⚠️ OPTION 1: PRETEND IT WAS JUST ONE BAD ACTOR
– Fire the Sergeant at Arms, issue an apology, call it a day
– Ignore the fact that Chairman Eschenbaum confirmed Thune asked Presler not to attend
– Let Thune off the hook entirely
– The base notices. They always notice.
– The grassroots remembers who ran the BOLO photo operation
⚠️ OPTION 2: FULLY INVESTIGATE AND HOLD LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABLE
– Acknowledge that Senate Majority Leader Thune's office was involved
– Demand answers for why a man with a ticket was turned away with a photo at the door
– Risk a civil war between the Thune establishment wing and the Presler grassroots wing
– Blow up the unity the Chairman just called for in his apology
– Open the door to a censure resolution that's already being filed
⚠️ OPTION 3: DO NOTHING AND HOPE IT BLOWS OVER
– Watch Presler's video of the denial rack up millions of views
– Watch the censure resolution against Thune move forward anyway
– Let the base conclude that the SD GOP protects establishment senators over grassroots activists
– Lose the very voters Presler has been registering
– Hand Democrats a gift-wrapped story about Republican infighting
Let that sink in.
There is no Option 4. There is no clean exit. There is no "we fired one guy and now it's over."
The media is showing you a firing and an apology.
They're NOT showing you that the Chairman himself confirmed Thune asked Presler to stay away — and that a censure resolution against Thune is already on the floor.
This is the most damaging internal GOP moment in South Dakota in years.

I'm posting things here you won't see anywhere else. Follow before that changes.
John Thune’s team has worked harder to argue that they weren’t responsible for @ScottPresler being kicked out of the SD GOP event than they have to pass the SAVE America Act.
@DougWahl1 If he is wearing the shirt representing the company, they have every right to sever the relationship. His judgement is questionable, and his empathy is non-existent.
Christian Maxwell won her primary in (IL-01) with (65%) of the vote and is on a shoestring budget
But proud to announce that she scraped up just enough to open up a campaign office
I've been asking (RNC) @ChairmanGruters to help fund her campaign
(RP) so he sees this... 👍
